How it works
What is a Stone Island ART number?
The ART number is a unique product code assigned to every Stone Island garment. It encodes information about the season, year, brand, and garment type — allowing you to identify exactly what a piece is and when it was made.
Where to find an ART number?
The ART number is printed on the swing tag and the internal garment label. On most newer pieces it begins directly with 4 digits. Older items may be prefixed with "ART". Do not confuse it with the Certilogo (CLG) authentication code.
Can this be used to authenticate my product?
No. ART numbers identify the garment's season and type but cannot confirm authenticity. For authentication on pieces from SS2014 onwards, use the Certilogo code printed on your garment at certilogo.com. ART numbers containing "222" are commonly found on counterfeit items.
Why some ART numbers don't work?
Some older or limited edition garments may use non-standard codes that fall outside the typical ART structure. Additionally, counterfeit items often carry invalid or made-up ART numbers. If the decoder returns unknown results, double-check the number on your tag carefully.
Why ART numbers are important?
ART numbers are essential for identifying the exact season and garment type of a Stone Island piece — useful when buying or selling secondhand, verifying listings, or researching archive collections. They provide a reliable reference point for any Stone Island garment.
